Prof. Dr. Moses Muhumuza (PhD) is the founder and lead author of CAARD Publishers — a researcher, scientist, environmentalist and life skills educator whose work bridges the worlds of formal academia and everyday practice.
A professor by vocation and a teacher at heart, he has built a body of writing that reaches across the disciplines that shape modern life: how to do rigorous research, how to navigate a PhD, how to mentor the next generation of scholars, how to commercialize what knowledge produces. Beyond academia, his work speaks to personal and professional transformation — career guidance, the after-graduation transition, the quantum dimensions of self-development, and the place of artificial intelligence in our future.
His environmental scholarship is rooted in lived East African experience — climate change mitigation and adaptation, eco-entrepreneurship and eco-investment, green stewardship, wildlife behaviour and the case for an inclusive, resilient approach to development. He writes too on the cultural heritage of the Tooro people and on the practical disciplines of organization development: fundraising, social enterprise, community engagement, lobbying and advocacy.
What unites this range is a single conviction: that knowledge is meant to be put to use. The CAARD motto — Know & Grow — is his editorial principle. Every CAARD title is built to be read, understood, and acted on — by students, by professionals, by communities, by leaders. It is publishing in service of growth.
"We did not start CAARD to add to the noise. We started it to put usable knowledge in the hands of the people who can change something with it."
A graduate of Makerere University with further diplomas from the Law Development Centre in Kampala and The Hague, Asaba is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a former diplomat. His CAARD title, Emirwa n'Emigenzo ya Tooro, is written in Rutooro to preserve the language, customs and traditions of the people of Tooro for the generations to come.

Talk to UsManuscripts are read by reviewers drawn from East African universities and from CAARD's network of subject-area specialists — to ensure each title is sound in its argument and useful to its reader.
Substantive, copy and proof editing is handled by CAARD's in-house and contracted editors, working with the author through every chapter until the manuscript reads with clarity and care.
A small advisory circle of professors, professionals and practitioners helps shape CAARD's editorial direction — ensuring titles stay rooted in real fields, real classrooms and real communities.
Named contributors, reviewers and editors are listed alongside each title and will be profiled here in full as more become public. To contribute, message us on WhatsApp.
